Brown cloth with gilt lettering. No dust jacket. Mary Hall Leonard (1847-1921) was a Bridgewater, Massachusetts author who was instrumental in the founding of Winthrop University in South Carolina. She served as its first (and only) teacher when it first opened in 1886. This first edition is printed on high quality paper with color on the title page. A very nice copy of this book which is quite scarce in the first editon. ; 12mo; 58 pages
